Bill is head of in-service courses. He is an English language teaching professional with over thirty-five years’ experience. Much of this experience has been in the Middle East in technical, military, and vocational environments. He has worked in England, Africa and the Middle East.
In Africa, he worked in the state system in Kenya in a rural high school teaching English and General Paper. He worked as an EAP Instructor at Sana’a University in the faculties of medicine and engineering and subsequently did a lot of work in ESP including lexical analysis of technical operating manuals and then devising interesting ways of providing instruction. He also led an initiative to set up a self-access learning centre in the oilfield where he was working in 1996.
Away from the classroom, Bill has held positions as a training manager in an oilfield, ELT textbook writer, teacher trainer, and ICDL/ECDL certified IT trainer and tester.
