Mohamed obtained his BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Nouakchott and his MA in English Linguistics from Eastern Michigan University with summa cum laude (the highest honour possible). His research focused on syntax with interest in phonology, morphology, semantics, psycholinguistics, computational linguistics and TEFL. He has taken courses in English as a Foreign Language at the University of Arizona,
University of Oregon and Eastern Michigan University and underwent an intensive course in Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas, Austin. Recently, he was awarded the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) by the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations board.
Mohamed first worked as a professional translator / interpreter. Later he taught at the University of Nouakchott, the Lebanese International University and other local language centres. He has recently joined the Higher Institute of English as an instructor.
Mohamed is known for his interactive style of teaching which motivates students and makes learning easy and fun. He has received a number of awards and certificates. These include the Fulbright Award, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) award, and Future Global Leader certificate.
