Rob is head of the degree programme. He is a British citizen with a DPhil from Oxford University in Natural Sciences. He also has a CELTA with merit.
He has worked in tertiary education and adult training outside the UK for 10 years following a career in senior education management within country. Before this, in his varied career, he held positions in Public Administration and Public Relations.
In tertiary education, he has worked in Middle East North Africa (MENA) in a variety of roles particularly teaching university students English and Academic Skills. He also taught General English and Business English to oil and gas, and health workers. He has worked in Azerbaijan, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Oman before coming to Mauritania.
He has been involved in research in the areas of extensive reading and teacher personalities. He gave a paper and presentation on the latter at TESOL Africa in Khartoum in 2016.
He has much practical knowledge of travel and tourism having visited 106 countries.
