Tim studied for a degree in Russian language and literature and, after graduation, took a TESOL qualification. He first taught English to business clients in London and then worked in other countries, including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Syria, Libya, Iraq and, most recently, Cambodia. The majority of his teaching work has been with adult learners in the oil and gas industry, as well as in the finance, business and government sectors .
