Congratulations to Hafed Mouloud who has obtained the examiner-corrector certificate to correct and evaluate \"\"exams for the French diplomas, DELF (Diploma of studies in French language) and DALF (Higher Diploma in French language).<\/p>\n

The exams for these diplomas are written in France, and take place all over the world, where there are centers specialized in the teaching of French as a Foreign Language, such as the Alliances Fran\u00e7aises<\/em> or the CREL (specialized center which is located at the University of Nouakchott). The tests are corrected locally by examiners who are certified by the French national education system.<\/p>\n

CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)<\/h4>\n

Staff members are continually making efforts to upgrade their skills and qualifications in various fields.<\/p>\n

\"\"After a long journey to obtain his CELTA certificate, Ahmed Sidi Baba has finally made it. The journey started on the 8th<\/sup> of March, 2020 when he attended his first input session at the British Institute in Algiers. After two weeks, however, the course was interrupted by the lockdown due to Covid-19. Trying to forge a way back to his country, Ahmed was stranded in Tindouf for about 4 months before he eventually made it back to Mauritania in late June, 2020. Fortunately, Ahmed was able to successfully complete the rest of the course online after a year-long interruption.<\/p>\n

ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence)<\/h4>\n

\"\"Moustapha and Aminetou have rapidly and successfully completed the ICDL\/ECDL computer Modules and are now qualified.
\nThe next stage in their development would be the CTP (Certified Training Professional). With CTP, HIE can become a certified ICDL testing and training centre.<\/p>\n

Staff are encouraged to register, and we also have Naziha \u00a0and Khadije now studying for this qualification.<\/p>\n

DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English\u00a0to Speakers of Other Languages)<\/h4>\n

Aaron<\/u><\/a> and Rona<\/u><\/a> have recently achieved the Cambridge DELTA. DELTA is the next step up from CELTA \u2013 but far more involving<\/p>\n

ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization<\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ger<\/a><\/u>ry McKeown<\/u><\/a> attended a one-week intensive course in England to become an ICAO certified Level 4 Rater for pilots and air traffic controllers. Having successfully completed this course, HIE is now in a position to offer rating services within Mauritania and, potentially, the region.<\/p>\n

CIPD Level 5 Certificate in Learning and Development<\/h4>\n

Mat<\/a><\/u>thew<\/u><\/a> has recently completed the CIPD Level 5 Certificate in Learning and Development. The CIPD is the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the UK\u2019s leading provider of HR-related qualifications. \u00a0He studied for his certificate online from September 2018 to November 2019. \u00a0The course is focused on equipping participants with the skills to manage the learning and development function in organisations. This means, for example, developing the ability to identify when and how learning needs to take place and sourcing or designing the most appropriate training in response.<\/p>\n
