HIE Higher Institute of English
The 5th edition of the e-Instructor Certification Programme organised by NATO DEEP (Defence Education Enhancement Programme) began on October 7, 2023 and ended on February 17, 2024. This programme was organised by the Universities of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland.
The general aims of the Programme were to prepare civilian and military personnel in professional military education institutions to become fully operational in an e-learning environment and to provide practical knowledge on how to design, plan and conduct remote classes and courses.
Subjects included synchronous and asynchronous learning, learning management systems and multimedia creation (audiocasts and podcasts).
3 teachers from HIE, Agnieszka, Gerry and Mohamed, took part in the Programme. It was definitely a big commitment on their part as it involved giving up their Saturday mornings and completing weekly tasks and assignments. Nevertheless, they all found it highly beneficial and hope to apply the knowledge learned in a practical way by setting up HIE’s own Learning management System.
Congratulations are also in order to Gerry and Mohamed as they were chosen by the course participants and tutors to receive the ‘Jean d’Andurain Prize’ as ‘best students’ on the course. Well done to them and Agnieszka for all their hard work and commitment in representing HIE in the best possible way and as a major provider of training and educational services to NATO.
Edition 6 is already underway with an increased number of HIE participants.
