On Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th of February, 2026, Representatives of the National Network of Internal Quality Assurance Units (IQAU) in Higher Educational Institutions in Mauritania, including HIE’s Dr Jiddou Sounkalo and Ahmed Sidi Baba, attended a workshop on African Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ASG-QA).
The objectives of the workshop, organised and hosted by AMAQ-ES (the Mauritanian Authority for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), were to raise awareness among IQAUs and the QA network about the importance of harmonising quality assurance practices in higher education institutions in Africa, and the development of adequate quality assurance mechanisms based on African standards and guidelines for quality assurance (ASG-QA).
