HIE Higher Institute of English
Intsigated and encouraged by Lilian Wardle, the student body, and specifically the Debating & Public Speaking Club, organized a presentation and skit 1st March in the Atrium of the Old Building. With staff and students in attendance, the club members were intent on sensitizing the HIE community to the need to clean-up and then maintain a clean and pleasant working enviroment.
Subsequent to the presentation, Lilian organized a clean-up day at Nouakchott beach. This was held on Saturday 18th March and jointly sponsored by HIE and the Rotary Club of Mauritania; in fact Siham Babane President of the Rotary Club and active member of the HIE Academic Board, was present and a member of the clean-up team.
We all hope that this laudable initiative can be sustained and built upon.
